Brooklyn Flea Winter Edition Starts This Weekend
The Brooklyn Flea is back with its winter edition beginning this weekend January 9th and 10th and it’s gonna be awesome. The Flea will be located in what I have long believed to be the coolest building in Brooklyn, One Hanson Place, aka The Williamsburg Bank Building. We’ll be there with all of our pickles, plus super-cool t-shirts and pickle paperweights. Here are all the details.
Making Pickles with Fox News
I’ll be shooting a segment for Fox News today. They are sending a crew to shoot me making Phat Beets up in Poughkeepsie, then we’re hoping back in the van and heading to Greenmarket to capture that scene at midday. Then we are going to finish up the day shooting a session of experimental pickle-making in at a kitchen in Bushwick. Should be a great shoot and I will post photos and air date details as they become available.
pickle 101 at louis 649
Happy New Year everybody! It feels great to be back in the swing of things and our first event of the year is tonight at Louis 649 in the East Village. Our new friend Gianfranco is the proprietor, and he’s got a weekly series of tastings on Tuesdays at the bar which has developed a large cult following. Tonight Louis 649 is celebrating their one-year anniversary with yours truly presenting a talk entitled Pickle 101. I’ll talk about what we do and how we do it, and provide some context as well on other forms of pickle-making. Naturally, there will be pickles to sample, paired with some of Louis 649′s excellent beer selections.
Here are the details:
